Introduction to the Gallery of Grit

At Dad’s Parlor, we draw inspiration from a rich tapestry of cultures, including hot rods, racing, whiskey, and more, to honor the past while embracing a bold, innovative spirit. The stories in our Gallery of Grit are intended to highlight those everyday individuals from the past and local legends that embody the values that we celebrate. We see and hear about plenty of historical figures that are famous for their actions, words, and character. I have no need to recount them here. You can find find information on them anywhere. Here, I want to tell those stories that might otherwise be lost to time. The ones that didn't get out beyond a community or region. They didn't do what they did for notoriety or attention. They did it because it drove them. I want to tell the tales of the individuals who were everyday people striving, grinding, and achieving excellence so that we can continue to be inspired by them, learn from them, and pass our shared values to future generations.
